From “I Do” to Baby Beckett – A Morning Family Session at Hovander Park

There are few things I love more than getting to follow a couple’s story over time — and this session with Zach, Olivia, and baby Beckett was such a full-circle moment for me.

A few years ago, I had the joy of capturing their engagement and wedding, and now here they are — a sweet family of three, with their adorable son Beckett, who arrived last November. This was their first official family session, and it felt like such an honor to be behind the camera once again.

We met up early in the morning at Hovander Park in Ferndale, WA, and the soft light and quiet surroundings were the perfect setting for this cozy, heartfelt session. There’s something magical about those early hours — calm, golden, and full of possibility (and a little dew on the grass!).

Beckett was a total champ during the session — snuggly, curious, and clearly so loved by his parents. Zach and Olivia have such a calm, joyful presence, and it shines even brighter now as they’ve stepped into parenthood together. Watching them cuddle, laugh, and simply enjoy being in this new chapter was a true joy to capture.

Photographing love stories as they unfold over the years is one of my favorite parts of this job. Getting to reconnect with past clients — now with babies in their arms — is such a sweet reminder of how fast life moves, and how important it is to pause and document it all.

Zach, Olivia, and Beckett — thank you for starting your morning with me and for letting me continue to tell your story. Watching your love grow (literally!) has been the best.
