The Dawson Family – Legacy, Laughter & Tootsie Pops on Lummi Shores

Some sessions go beyond photos — they become stories of legacy, love, and generations gathered in one place. That was exactly the case with the Dawson family’s extended session, held at their beautiful private residence on Lummi Shores.
This wasn’t just a family home — it was a place built with intention, history, and heart. Originally constructed by the great-grandfather of the family, it’s now lovingly lived in by Pop Pop and Grandma, who moved in just this past year. Watching the entire extended family gather on this land, surrounded by memories and stories, was something truly special.
🏡 A Home Built by Generations, for Generations
Photographing families in spaces that mean something always adds another layer of magic. Every corner of this home held a little piece of the Dawson family’s story — and capturing all the grandkids, parents, couples, and siblings there felt like honoring something bigger than a single moment.
The joy was real, the laughter was loud, and the love? You could feel it in every hug, every smile, and every glance between generations.
🍭 Pop Pop’s Tootsie Pop Tradition
And speaking of love — can we talk about Pop Pop’s Tootsie Pop tradition? It’s the thing all the grandkids look forward to, and it was so sweet to see that excitement play out during the session. Whether they were posing for the camera or running off to find their favorite flavor, those little moments are what make family sessions like this so meaningful.
It’s those traditions — simple, consistent, and full of love — that become the glue in extended families. And now they have photos to remember this chapter for years to come.
📸 Dawson Family, Thank You
To the Dawson family — thank you for welcoming me into your story. It was such an honor to capture not just your faces, but your roots, your joy, and your legacy. Sessions like this are what make my job so fulfilling.
If your extended family hasn’t had photos in a while (especially in a meaningful place like “home”), don’t wait. These are the moments worth remembering.
