A Joyful Extended Family Session at the Oregon Coast – Seaside, OR

There’s something truly magical about the Oregon Coast — the salty breeze, soft golden light, and that calming rhythm of the waves. It’s one of my favorite places to photograph families, and this recent extended family session in Seaside was no exception.

This session was filled with laughter, genuine connection, and the kind of memories that make family portraits truly meaningful. With multiple families coming together to celebrate their time at the coast, my focus was on making sure everyone felt comfortable, seen, and had a moment to shine.

Each family got their own dedicated time in front of the camera — from sweet parent-kid snuggles to fun, candid sibling shots. We made sure every little personality had room to show up! I also spent intentional time capturing the grandparents with their grandkids (those photos always tug at the heartstrings), and of course, each couple had their special moment too. These kinds of sessions are a perfect reminder that love grows deeper with time — and seeing that through the lens was such a privilege.

What made this session even more special was how much fun everyone had. Whether we were chasing the tide, walking barefoot in the sand, or catching those in-between moments of laughter and hugs, the joy was undeniable.

Family sessions like this are not just about getting everyone to smile at the same time — they’re about storytelling. Capturing the legacy of love that’s passed from generation to generation. And doing it against the stunning backdrop of Seaside? A total dream.
